LOCAL – SATS

To promote the local development and sustainability of cities and territories in the Mediterranean Basin through the exchange of experiences and best practices of geospatial applications for local management. A review of the SWOT analysis for Lebanon was done and a report on the strengths and gaps was published on the project website. Land capability classification for the Caza of Hermel was undertaken as case study. A total of Lebanese 150 experts and employees from national ministries, research and academic institutes and municipalities were trained on the use of GIS and environmental management of natural resources.
