Mediterranean and Wetlands presence at COP22

COP22 takes over the reins from COP21 (see the article on the MedWet presence, here) during which important progress was made. It focuses on action items in order to achieve the priorities of the Paris Agreement, especially related to adaptation, transparency, technology transfer, mitigation, capacity building, and loss and damages.

25 to 30,000 participants from 190 countries are expected; 1,500 journalists, 8,000 delegates from civil society, and members of parliaments from all over the world.

Workshops and side events will be scheduled throughout the duration of COP22 in parallel to the formal negotiations. These events aim to deepen the thinking, strengthen the debate, present best practices, develop partnerships, and advocacy, as well as to formulate proposals, promote knowledge sharing, and consolidate or launch initiatives in favor of our climate.
