Conserving biodiversity and managing agricultural heritage

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) launched the project "Biodiversity conservation and adaptive management of ingenious Agricultural Heritage Systems in Morocco". An investment of 772,000 dollars is allocated to preserve the biodiversity of agricultural systems in the areas of Imilchil, Ait Mansour, Figuig, Assa and Akka.

The project aims to strengthen approaches that promote the conservation of biodiversity, mitigate land degradation in oasis ecosystems of global importance by applying adaptive management of agricultural heritage in selected sites: Imilchil, Ait Mansour, Figuig Assa and Akka.
