Morocco at the heart of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue

A Moroccan delegation participated in the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2017 (BETD), held March 20 and 21 in the German capital, within the framework of the Moroccan-German Energy Partnership (PAREMA).

The dialogue was intended to discuss the global urgency to foster sustainable, low-carbon economic growth while meeting increasing global energy demands and addressing climate change, explained a press release published by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

For the occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, Abderrahim El Hafidi, came to Berlin to present to investors the Moroccan energy model and the results of the Kingdom’s global energy transition.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Energy, Mines, Water and Environment, the event was marked by the presence of major players in the energy sector, such as the heads of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), together presenting an “unpublished” report aimed at implementing the Paris Climate Agreement.
