December 5 is World Soil Day: this animated video, produced by the Global Soil Partnership, promotes the creation of a UN World Soil Day and the adoption of 2015 as the International Year of Soils.
The International Year of Soils will serve as a platform for raising awareness on the importance of sustainable soil management as the basis for food systems, fuel and fibre production, essential ecosystem functions and better adaptation to climate change for present and future generations.
