FAO concludes social protection and agriculture e-learning series

The FAO Regional Initiative on Small-Scale Family Farming has just concluded the first ever e-learning series on social protection and agriculture for the Near East and North Africa region.

The e-learning series aimed at continuing the sensitization and practical capacity development of governments in the region to effectively adopt social protection policies that support those in the rural areas that are dependent on agriculture. It addressed the definition and methods of implementing social protection policies and initiatives. It also highlighted case studies from countries in the region and abroad to identify key learnings from other social protection programmes.

Participants were able to discuss these topics and how they might be dealt with in their particular country using the mechanisms provided by social protection.
