Spain to build pilot greenhouse for Egyptian government
Tecnova Research Centre based in Almeria, southern Spain, has signed a contract for building a High Productivity Pilot Greenhouse in El Cairo region. The Egyptian government is looking to modernise its agriculture in order to develop the economy, creating new jobs and improving population wealth.
Last March, an Egyptian delegation visited different European countries in order to get to know the greenhouse industry first-hand. They were very interested in what had happened in Almeria during the last 30 years. From being one of the poorest areas in Spain, it is now the largest greenhouse concentration worldwide and the most important vegetable producer during the winter season.
