Food security: towards more intensive farming in Algeria

An important debate on the presentation of the study  "The issue of food security " was held yesterday in Algeries.

This study expresses the will of effectively contributing to the national debate on major economic issues of the country. The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Chelgham Abdeslam expressed on this occasion its full satisfaction with the organization of this kind of meeting which served, among others, to assess the situation of the agricultural sector. He stressed the importance of developing the agriculture and fishery sectors, especially in the current context marked by the drastic fall in oil prices. To this end and to create a balanced economy, the Minister said it is first necessary to create a favorable investment climate and promote public/private partnership.
