Tunisia: food waste is expensive
Food waste costs each Tunisian an average of 64 dinars per month, or 18% of total food expenditure (364d / month), according to a field survey conducted by the National Consumer Institute (INC). The survey covered a sample of 2004 people across all governorates in order to know in particular, pattern of Tunisian consumer waste and to change behavior in this area.
In this respect, approximately 98.2% of respondents noted that food waste is a big problem to avoid while according to 70% of respondents, the level of food waste is rising, said to TAP news agency the CEO of INC Tarek Ben Jazia.
