Early Warning System for Lebanese farmers

The Lebanese Agriculture Research Institute (LARI) has established an Early Warning System (EWS) to support farmers in attenuating damages that could be caused by destructive climatic conditions. Changes in microclimate throughout the country, are monitored using Agrometeorological Weather Station (AWS).

A series of training sessions are under preparation with support from the ClimaSouth project. The training will target the Early Warning System in the Bekaa Valley, by focussing on (i) the management and maintenance of Agrometeorological Weather Station (AWS); (ii) soil moisture sensors and monitoring techniques; (iii) climatic data download, validation and management.
